Every now and then the 'Tupac is still alive' conspiracy does the rounds on social media, and today is no different – only this time we're looking at it from a different angle.
The reality is that Tupac Amaru Shakur, aka 2Pac, died on 13 September 1996 from injuries sustained in a drive-by shooting.
Widely considered to be one of the most influential rappers of all time, it seems the fans still aren't ready to let him go. The rumours about him still being alive and well have been swirling ever since his death and they don't seem to show any signs of stopping.

TikToker Ibz (@infamousibz) recently explored the latest in this ongoing conspiracy theory from a group that claims the fellow rapper Akil the MC is actually 2Pac.
In the clip, Ibz says: "That sounds mad, right? But look at this," before cutting to a side-by-side of the hip hop artists' faces.
"The resemblance on both of these guys is crazy, right," he continues. "They've got the same eyebrows, same kind of eye style. I mean the only thing that's different is the nose."

But don't worry, as the theorists have an explanation for this one too - plastic surgery.
The TikToker then demonstrates how they even have similar teeth and hairlines, concluding the clip by stating, "I'm not saying I believe this but damn it's interesting."
There are plenty of people out there who stand firmly by the hypothesis, with one writing in the comments: "I reckon he is alive and his ‘posthumous’ albums were labelled as that as he don’t want to be a public figure anymore."

"They look alike," wrote another, while a third simply said: "I believe it."
But there's one major issue that's being overlooked here - Akil was a rapper in the hip hop group Jurassic 5, who were pumping out hits at the same time as Tupac.
If you look at pictures of the group back in the day, it's clear to see Akil looks very different to the rapper people claim he is.
The Jurassic 5 star has become so frustrated with the conspiracy theorists, he even made a track in which he lists all the reasons why he definitely isn't Tupac.
Plenty of people raised this point on TikTok, including one who wrote: "Akil MC was making songs with Jurassic5 before Tupac died so I don’t think he is."

Others pointed out the hefty pile of evidence that the 'Hit Em Up' rapper is six feet underground right now.
"There are autopsy pictures of Tupac," explained one, with another writing: "I thought that too but Tupac literally took his last breath in front of a cop."
Case closed? Probably not – be ready for this theory to do the rounds again in a couple of months.
