Dave Bautista has shared a photo of his new ‘transition to fatty status’, having reportedly gained weight for a forthcoming movie role.
The former professional WWE wrestler has managed to use his impressive figure to carve out a career in Hollywood, having most famously portrayed the towering warrior Drax the Destroyer in a number of Marvel films.

But while the star is already known for his fairly huge frame, it seems he’s had to pile on some pounds for a new role, having shared a selfie to document the weight gain – which he said would ‘soon come to an end’, suggesting it is, indeed, all for his craft.
According to Men’s Health, Bautista’s new snap was taken from the set of new thriller Knock at the Cabin, which started shooting back in April.
Showing off his new ‘fatty status’ (his words, not ours), the actor also joked about selfie etiquette – admitting he should have cleaned the glass.

He wrote: “So I was trying to take a solid pic of myself to document my transition to fatty status. Which will soon come to an end thank god! Upon inspection of this pic I noticed a few issues.
“1: Let’s start with the obvious. You can see my balls.
“2: Apparently I brush my teeth in a way that toothpaste flys all over the bathroom. I’ll have to work on that.
“3: I have officially turned into the grouchy emoji...

“Anyway I hope everyone out there isn’t taking themselves too seriously. Life’s too short. Happy Sunday!!”
When he was bodybuilding, Bautista would try and cram as many calories into his body as possible, but later cut out dairy, red meat and pork – more recently also ditching poultry to make his diet completely meat-free.
While he follows a mostly-plant-based diet, he has fish a couple of times a week, but eventually plans to go vegan.

Speaking to Men's Health last October, he was asked which meal he misses the most due to his diet, to which he responded: “The only thing that’s killing me is because I grew up on chicken adobo, which is a very common standard Filipino dish.
“And it’s one of the few dishes that I make constantly. I make it for myself, I make it for my friends. And now I still make it for my friends, but I have to just sit there and watch them eat it, and it’s torture.”
Bautista also said that, when he's on set filming, it's in his contract that he has to eat no less than every four hours.
“In between those meals if I get hungry, I typically do an almond butter and banana, or a vegan, gluten-free grilled cheese is my favorite go-to,” he explained.

The star also said he works out every day, sometimes even twice, adding: “This is my sanctuary. I come here for peace of mind. It’s therapeutic for me."
