She believes it can be offensive and reckons we should be referring to them as extra terrestrials instead.
She sat down with Pedestrian.TV to reveal why Earthlings need to hone our language to help those from other parts of the cosmos.
"I really think that if there was anything out there that would want to do that to us, it would have happened by now," Lovato said at the time.
"But, I think that we have to stop calling them aliens because aliens is a derogatory term for anything.

"That's why I like to call them ETs! So yeah, that's a little tidbit. A little information that I learned."
Lovato and her pals made the comments while promoting their Peacock TV series where they look at extraterrestrials and what we know about them.
So yeah, the American singer has been an ET-junkie for quite some time.

The show, Unidentified with Demi Lovato, followed the singer, her friend Matthew, and her sister Dallas as they search for signs of extraterrestrial life.
"I have been a believer my whole life," she said.
"And this was just kind of a natural next step. I wanted to film everything that goes down when I go and search for these UFOs so that my fans can come along for the ride."
She added: "I feel like it’s so important also to talk about this because it raises our consciousness. It expands our consciousness and that is what we have to do in order to make this world a better place."

The 'Sorry Not Sorry' has been previously vocal about a UFO experience in the California desert.
Thankfully, she went into a little more detail this time.
Speaking to E! News Lovato said: "We went out into the desert in Joshua Tree and I basically saw this blue orb that was about 50ft away, maybe less.
"It was kind of floating above the ground just like 10 or 15ft, and it was kind of keeping its distance from me."
She added: "It definitely changed the way that you see the world. You have an inkling and then all of a sudden that inkling is confirmed. It changes your reality, for sure."
So there you go.
Demi Lovato is still a believer, so keep your eyes on the skies, folks.
