Doja Cat’s Instagram following has taken a bit of a hit in recent days while Noah Schnapp’s has skyrocketed after he shared her DMs online.
In case you missed it, the unlikely pair have been in the headlines since last week after Doja got in contact with the Stranger Things star to ask him how to slide into the DMs of Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie Munson on the Netflix show.
While the 17-year-old was happy to hand over Quinn's information, he also posted pictures of their private exchange onto TikTok in a now deleted video titled 'thirsty Doja'.

Although the singer – real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – has been pretty upfront about her admiration of Quinn, she wasn’t too happy with the Will Byers actor sharing their private messages.
In a TikTok live stream, she said that while she hopes they can be ‘chill about it’ as he’s just ‘a kid’, she described his actions as 'borderline snake s**t' and 'weasel s**t'.
While many people agree with Doja and think that Schnapp should never have shared their exchange online, others criticised how she dealt with the situation – and their social media stats seem to mirror the latter consensus.
As demonstrated by Social Blade, which tracks social media statistics and analytics, the Stranger Things star’s Instagram following jumped from 24.25 million on Wednesday, July 7, to 25.17 million as of yesterday.

That’s nearly one million new followers since the whole saga started.
Doja, one the other hand, fell from 24.34 million to 24.14 million over the same time period, losing just over 200k followers.
In her TikTok live show, the star said it felt like 'a weird power play' and that she had already talked to Schnapp about it.

Many fans were unimpressed with the hitmaker going after a teenager, flooding to the comments section of a recent video to share their thoughts.
“Leave Noah alone,” wrote one user, while another said, "UR GETTING MAD AT A KID.”
“It ain’t that deep with Noah Schnapp, Doja, it was a joke,” added a third.
Doja appeared to address the drama in a tweet on Friday, writing: “Y’all are so cringe and lame and nobody wants to hang w u that’s why y’all be on here unironically writing replies to s**t that makes you mad.”
