Drake has defended his decision to paint his nails pink after getting ribbed by Lil Yachty on Instagram.
The Canadian rapper claims that he only decided to get his nails done because he wants to stop biting them, and said that ‘the world is homophobic’.
The pair are friends, so it seems to have been good-natured, but that didn’t stop Drake typing out his response all in caps, for added effect.

It all started because Yachty passed comment on Drake’s appearance in an Instagram picture showing the star doing a bit of DJing.
Yachty said: “Boy got them heavy hangers in his ear.”
Whatever that means, anyway.
Drake seemed to get the idea, though.

In – we assume – mock indignation, he responded: “GET OUT MY COMMENTS YOU TOLD ME TO PAINT MY NAILS SO I STOP BITING THEM AND NOW THE WORLD IS BEING HOMOPHOBIC FOR THE 1st TIME SINCE ‘RICH FLEX'.”
He’s referring to a song that he recorded with 21 Savage recently, before he then added that the song – which came out in November 2022 – ‘wasn’t that long ago now that I think about it’.
“Wait is the world homophobic? Smh,” he added.

Yachty continued on with the jokes, responding: “Woo-sah brother, your [sic] not supposed to have these episodes in public, it’s fine.
“They just don’t get u bro #UDIFFERENTAF”
Obviously, we just have to assume that they are joking, anyway. It sounds like the sort of in-joke that they might have, at least.
Champagne Papi – as he’s popularly known – revealed his new nails in an Instagram story earlier this month.

On June 3 he shared a picture of his hands with the two fetching shades of pink on each finger.
Drake – real name Aubrey Drake Graham – showed off the nails in another post not long after, showing his nails off whilst singing Kanye West’s hit ‘Through the Wire’ wearing a puppy sweatshirt.
There’s a lot going on right there.
This all comes as his latest tour starts in the US, with the first gig taking place in Chicago on Wednesday.

He’s bringing 21 Savage with him on the ‘All a Blur’ tour.
Not everyone is fully on board with Drake’s new style, though, with one person commenting: “He gone have on red lipstick next."
So what, right?
“I don’t like this,” another added. “You can’t be tryna rap some real s**t and then go sit at the nail salon nahh.”
Still, others defended him.
One person wrote: “Y’all are so damn homophobic for whaaaat!? These comments ssscreeeeam insecure and toxic masculinity,
“Shut up, getting your nails done is not just for women, and it doesn’t make you any less of a man, next callerrrrr.”
