Fans of The Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page are starting to wonder if he might be in a new relationship after Instagram posts showed him hanging out with a comedian on a number of occasions.
First things first, I will point out that friendships exist, and usually we wouldn't blink twice at an Instagram post showing one friend hanging out with another.

However, speculation among Page's fans appears to come from the fact that there's a new person on their feed - one who he hasn't previously and clearly established a platonic relationship with.
The actor, who uses he/him and they/them pronouns, took to Instagram earlier this week to share a series of photos from the LA County Museum of Art's Art and Film Gala.
They were dressed in a black suit and bowtie, but most notably for fans, he wasn't alone.

Page's first picture in the series showed him smiling alongside Canadian comedian Mae Martin, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns.
Martin was wearing a navy blue suit in the images, and could be seen grinning as they stood alongside Page at the event.
Needless to say, the post sparked excitement among fans - but it wasn't the only one to appear on the platform.

Martin themselves first shared images from the event a couple of days earlier, showing Page and Martin posing together in a bathroom before another image showed them grinning on the red carpet.
Alongside the image, Martin wrote: "My King @elliotpage took me out. Thank you @gucci for the suit and @lacma for the stunning night."
Fans described the photo as 'too much', with singer Halsey commenting: "Cannot handle this pic."
Many others couldn't help but enquire about the pair's relationship status, with a number of fans convinced that the images must mean Martin and Page are more than friends.

"Damn good looking couple right there," one person wrote, while another commented: "Your KING? Does this mean y’all are official????"
The speculation comes after Page announced that he had filed for divorce from their wife Emma Portner in January 2021, nearly two months after he came out as transgender.
In a statement, the pair explained: “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce following our separation last summer. We have the utmost respect for each other and remain close friends.”

We'll have to wait and see whether Page and Martin decide to share any more information on their relationship status - until then, fans will just have to enjoy what they choose to give us.
