Talulah Riley called Elon Musk the ‘perfect ex-husband’ and said she has the ‘utmost love for him’.
The Inception actor recently announced her engagement to Love Actually’s Thomas Brodie-Sangster.
But before they were dating, Riley had been married to Musk, not once but twice.

She met the business mogul in a bar in 2008 and married him in Dornoch Cathedral in the UK in 2010.
Musk and Riley divorced in 2012, only to remarry the following year. And then they eventually called it quits for good in 2016.
However, the actor is aware she has a less than typical relationship with her ex, as in 2022 she told The Independent: “Obviously I understand it looks strange. But that logic made sense at the time.”

Riley went on: “I suppose the reason to get remarried was just because it felt silly to be together unmarried after having been married.
“You know, it’s like a habit. We were saying ‘this is my husband.’ ‘This is my wife.’ ‘Oh, wait, no, we’re not that anymore. We better be that again.’
“You know, it felt silly to go back to ‘this is my boyfriend’ when we’ve been married. So, we just got married again.”
And despite their two marriages and divorces, in the acknowlegdements for her 2018 book, The Quickening, Riley thanks Musk for being ‘the perfect ex-husband’.

She added: “We are in a happy place now, where we’re good to each other, which is really nice. I have here utmost love for him.”
Riley also explained that during her time coupled up with him, she took care of Musk’s children from his previous marriage with Justine Musk.
She said: “I mean, there were the rockets and the cars, and there were things blowing up… there was a lot going on - a lot that was very stimulating.

“We [her, and Musk’s kids] were very involved in what was going on. It was a group effort. A family-wide effort."
The actor met Brodie-Sangster while working on the series Pistol in 2021.
She announced their engagement on Twitter, or should we say her ex’s site, X.
Accompanied by a cosy selfie with the Maze Runner actor, she wrote on 27 July: “Very happy to share that after two years of dating, Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged!”

And Musk actually responded to the engagement tweet (or xeet or whatever he’s wanting us to call them now), replying: “Congratulations!” with a red love-heart emoji.
