Fans shocked at 'gross' moment Usher seemingly calls man over to hold the door open for him at restaurant

The rapper's 'rude' behaviour has been slammed by fans

Usher has been accused of 'rude' behaviour after a hotel door incident in Paris.

The RnB star was staying in the exclusive Baccarat hotel in the French capital while on the European leg of his 'Past, Present, Future' tour, celebrating 30 years in music. He had just wrapped a 10-night residency at London’s O2 Arena, where he brought out surprise guests like Estelle and Craig David.

However, it was his behaviour at the hotel that caused outrage on social media. According to the viral footage online, Usher was leaving the $1,135-a-night hotel after dinner with a female companion. After he held the door for her to leave first, his act of chivalry quickly turned 'entitled' as he looked less than impressed that nobody was there to have it open for him as he left.

As such, Usher was seen to signal a doorman over to come and hold it open before he casually walked out and signed an autograph.

Fans reacted quickly, with many claiming the artist was wrong for his behaviour. Over on Reddit, some viewers classed it as 'gross behavior' from the celebrity.

"I’m sorry, IMO this is one of those things that usually indicates someone’s true character. If he’s treating this poor employee like that in front of cameras, imagine how he behaves and treats others behind closed doors," one viewer proclaimed.

"Why would you wait for someone else to hold the door open for you when you already held it open for someone else and you have both hands free?" another questioned.

"Celebrities can’t even open the door themselves anymore?" another added.

Meanwhile, others defended the 'Yeah' singer saying the doorman was doing a poor job and that Usher was right in his actions.

"At the same time, the doorman has one thing to do: open and hold the door. Usher didn't yell at him either. If I'm not doing my job properly, it's normal for someone to point it out to me," someone else responded.

"[..]When you pay a certain price you expect a certain service. Those who don't understand this have simply never set foot in a certain type of establishment."

Another argued: "The doorman is getting paid to open the door for the people entering and exiting. The woman should have never had to open the door in the first place because the doorman should have been doing his job instead of talking in the background.

"Usher was probably upset that the woman opened the door and was about to have him walk out until he held the door for her. If the man was doing his job there would be no awkward moment."
