Michell Yeoh became the first Asian woman to win an Academy Award for Best Actress tonight.
It was an incredible moment when her name was read out at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood as she was recognized for her work on Everything Everywhere All At Once.
The actor gracefully walked onto the stage and was handed her coveted award by presenter Halle Berry.

Berry appeared emotional as she gave Yeoh that gorgeously gold statue.
However, it was important that the Academy selected Berry to present the Best Actress award as, up until tonight, she had been the only woman of color to have won Best Actress.
With Yeoh's win, that now makes two.
It incredible to think that the Academy Awards has been running for nearly 100 years and there have only been two women of color to win Best Actress.

However, what was more amazing was seeing Halle pass Michelle the award knowing full well what it meant.
People on social media were blown away by the revelation.
One person said: "Halle Berry's face as she welcomes Michelle Yeoh to stand beside her, 21 years after she made history at the Oscars. I'm a wreck."
Another added: "Felt the history in that hug between Halle Berry and Michelle Yeoh. First Black actress to win Best Actress Academy Award presents award to first Asian Best actress winner."

When Yeoh accepted the Best Actress gong, she told the crowd: "For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities.
"This is proof that, dream big, and dreams do come true.
"And ladies don't let anybody tell you you are ever past your prime...never give up."
She added: "I wouldn't be standing here tonight without the Daniels, without A24, without my amazing cast and crew, without everyone who was involved with Everything Everywhere All at Once.

"I have to dedicate this to my mom, all the moms in the world, because they are really the superheroes. And without them none of us would be here tonight."
She thanked her family and friends for 'letting me stand on your shoulders, giving me a leg up, so I can be here today'.
Yeoh concluded her speech by saying: "And to my godchildren, to my sisters, all of them, to my brothers, to my family — thank you!
"Thank you! Thank you to the Academy, this is history in the making."
