Dannii Minogue Shocked By Jennifer Lopez's Requests For Backstage Room

Dannii Minogue Shocked By Jennifer Lopez's Requests For Backstage Room

Dannii Minogue says she was shocked when she heard what the Jenny From The Block singer was asking for

Celebrities are known for putting together a list of items they'd like in their dressing rooms before an appearance, usually consisting of a few bottles of Stella and some crisps.

But with Jennifer Lopez being one of the biggest names on the planet, it should probably come as no surprise that her rider is a bit more elaborate than most.

And Dannii Minogue claims that one request by the 'Jenny from the Block' singer left her speechless.

Speaking on her The 90s With Dannii Minogue podcast, the Australian star recently recalled that Lopez once demanded her room be completely redecorated before she would perform.

She said: "And while you hear those diva stories, there is one I can actually vouch for.

"I was at Top of the Pops and was told Jennifer Lopez was on her way, but she refused to perform unless her backstage room was redecorated.

"I was told everything had to be white, including the sofa. I asked to go in and see the room as she wasn't there in that moment... I was lapping up every detail."

Adding: "All I could think was, 'Girlfriend is covered head to toe in body makeup. How do you sit on a white couch?'"

UNILAD has reached out to Lopez's representatives for comment.

This comes after Lopez revealed recently that she was absolutely fuming at having to share the stage with Shakira during her Super Bowl half time show back in 2021.

Discussing the performance in her new Netflix documentary Halftime, the music icon branded the decision the 'worst idea in the world'.

In the one-off, viewers watched as the 52-year-old came to verbal blows with NFL executives over why they wanted two women to do a job that usually goes to a single artist.

Speaking to her musical director at one point, Lopez said: "We have six f***ing minutes. We have 30 seconds of a song, and if we take a minute, that's it, we've got five left.

Lopez reportedly demanded her dressing room be redecorated before she performed.

"But, there's got to be certain songs that we sing, though. We have to have our singing moments. It's not going to be a dance f***ing revue. We have to sing our message.

"This is the worst idea in the world to have two people do the Super Bowl. It was the worst idea in the world.

"This is something I have been working for and hoping for years."

Lopez’s long-time manager Benny Medina branded the NFL’s decision to choose two Latin women to carry out the show that usually has one artist an 'insult'.

He said: "Typically, you have one headliner at a Super Bowl. That headliner constructs a show, and, should they choose to have other guests, that's their choice.

The singer said she regretted her Super Bowl performance with Shakira.

"It was an insult to say you needed two Latinas to do the job that one artist historically has done."

At one point in the doc, Lopez is seen discussing the show’s running order with Shakira before insisting that if they were going to have a double headliner, they should have given them 20 minutes rather than the standard 12.

She says: "Let me address that really quick. They said 12 minutes. I got kind of a good confirmation that we could have an extra minute or two, so now we're at, like, 13, 14 minutes.

"I think, Shakira, what we should have is you should have half the time and I should [have half].

"If it was going to be a double-headliner, they should have given us 20 minutes. That's what they should've f***ing done."
