On the fourth day of Johnny Depp’s $50 million (£38m) lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, the court were shown photos that appeared to depict Depp with injuries on his face.
The trial began last week with Depp’s lawyers claiming Heard had taken away the actor’s ‘ability to walk down the street without people thinking he is an abuser’.
Yesterday, after Depp’s bodyguard took to the stand, the court was shown images of the actor from December 2015 that appeared to show injuries to his face.
The photos were captured by Depp’s security guard, Sean Bett, who told the jury he had taken the pictures ‘as evidence in case Ms Heard tried to make allegations against Depp’.

During his testimony, Bett was asked whether he ever saw injuries on Amber Heard during the time he worked for the couple.
He said no, but claimed he saw Depp with visible injuries on a number of occasions.
Nevertheless, Bett said that he never saw any physical violence take place between the pair.
Depp’s bodyguard also explained that on one occasion, after dropping Heard off at their shared penthouse to calm down, he told her that ‘this can’t continue’.

He added: “You’re either going to kill each other or you’re going to end up in jail.”
Bett then went on to discuss the pair’s trip to Australia during March 2015, when an incident occurred that left the tip of Depp’s finger severed.
As a result of the injury, the actor needed a skin graft and operation to insert two pins in order to fix the wound.

Both sides have provided conflicting accounts regarding the incident.
Depp’s team have stated that Heard threw a vodka bottle at him, causing the injury. However, Heard’s team said the actor smashed a phone against the wall, causing the injury himself.
During the fourth day, Depp’s private doctor also testified.
Doctor Kipper told the court he had witnessed the aftermath of the incident in Australia himself, describing seeing ‘blood’ and ‘glass’ all over the house before he took Depp to hospital for emergency treatment.

During his testimony, Doctor Kipper also described the lengthy list of the star’s disorders, including ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), bipolar disorder, depression, insomnia, substance dependence and chronic reflux.
Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife over an op-ed in The Washington Post where she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. Heard has come with a counterclaim against Depp worth $100 million.
