Johnny Depp appeared to mimic some unusual facial expressions while speaking with his lawyers in court today, with some fans suggesting he was imitating the bizarre testimony from a psychiatrist called in as an expert witness for Amber Heard.
Yesterday, 23 May, Dr David Spiegel took the stand in the highly publicised defamation trial where he claimed the Pirates of the Caribbean star has 'behaviours that are consistent with someone that both has substance-use disorder as well as behaviours of someone who is a perpetrator of intimate-partner violence'.
But his opinion came into question during his cross-examination after it was revealed that the doctor hadn't actually examined the actor.

Things took an ever stranger turn when Depp's lawyer Wayne Dennison brought up Spiegel's previous suggestion that the star had slow processing speeds due to substance usage, querying whether he'd derived this opinion from Depp's portrayals in certain movies.
When Dennison asked if he'd looked at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when comparing processing speeds, instead of answering the question, Spiegel pulled some unusual faces – rubbing his chin and rolling his tongue around his mouth.
Much like the rest of the trial, which kicked off in Virginia last month, the awkward moment garnered a huge reaction online.
While attention has now turned to the latest session, which saw Heard's team rest their case, some fans think Depp imitated Spiegel while speaking to his team in court today.

Taking to Twitter, a Camille Vasquez fan account shared the clip that shows the actor appearing to pull a number of faces similar to those of the psychiatrist during his testimony while his lawyer Benjamin Chew chuckles along.
Unfortunately we can't be certain whether he was referencing this moment as there's no sound for their private conversation, but the Twitter account wrote, "Johnny Depp imitating the doctor from yesterday," alongside a laughing face emoji and #JusticeForJohnnyDepp.
Numerous people agreed with the assumption, with one writing, "He's so chaotic," while another said, "They just can't."
Others commented on other standout moments from Spiegel's testimony, including this person who said: "Amber Heard's lawyer really said eating candy is a narcissistic trait in an open court with her whole chest."

A second accused the doctor of violating the Goldwater Rule, prohibiting mental health experts from diagnosing people they have not examined.
Spiegel appeared to grow defensive when this was brought up by Dennison yesterday, stating: "If you want the jury to believe that expert witness are unethical, then I guess that's for them to decide."
