A tweet went viral on Monday after it revealed the torrent of abusive messages aimed at Johnny Depp's daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, in relation to her father's ongoing defamation lawsuit.
Launched against his ex-wife Amber Heard, the suit has barely left the headlines since commencing last month. With almost every moment being live streamed and uploaded to YouTube, it's a uniquely public spectacle.
But one victim of this has been Lily-Rose, the 22-year-old daughter of Johnny and his ex-wife, Vanessa Paradis.

It has now been revealed that some of Depp's most ardent fans have been sending hate comments her way for not publicly supporting her father enough in his case against Heard.
Twitter user Ahmad posted four screenshots of comments on one of Lily-Rose's recent Instagram posts with the caption: “this is just insane.”
One comment read: “Please support your father. Regardless of YOUR relationship with him you know that Amber is NOT THE VICTIM. Support him please, speak up!!!!”

Others called the model out for not uploading any pictures of her dad at this time. “Not a single pic of your dad! What kind of human being are u!?” one person bemoaned.
“After years you will be gone and forgotten and people will only remember you as the daughter of a legendary man," another user added.
Ahmad then proceeded to share the theory of one Depp fan, who suggested that the hate comments were in fact coming from Heard's fans trying to smear the Pirates of the Caribbean star's supporter base.

This particular theory was resoundingly panned by several Twitter users.
Lily-Rose's parents separated in 2012, shortly before Depp and Heard first started dating. The pair would then marry in 2015, before divorcing in incredibly acrimonious circumstances two years later.
Depp is suing Heard for $50m (£40m) for insinuating he abused her in a 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post.

One of the standout moments from day 16 of the trail was Heard's apparent shock over Depp claiming to be a victim of domestic violence.
On the witness stand, Heard said: "I found it hard to believe that he could or that he would do that, considering the relationship he and I had. I thought it would be crazy for him to do so."
An audio clip of an argument between Heard and Depp was played to the jury, where the Aquaman star could be heard saying the world would never believe he was a victim of domestic abuse.
