JoJo Siwa has opened up on the impact fame has had on her dating life, with the YouTube star admitting that she feels quite a way behind other teenagers.
The performer and YouTuber was appearing on podcast We're Having Gay Sex when she explained how much of a wrench being famous has thrown into her teenage years.
The 19-year-old said she feels more mature than people her own age because when she was nine, she 'was expected to work and act as if I was 18', which she feels has left her 'in a mental space of a 29-year-old'.

While JoJo said she feels more mature than other teens, there's one place she said she feels some way behind and that's the world of sex and relationships.
Siwa has been open about her sexuality, girlfriends and breakups but she feels as though she missed out on a lot of experiences teenagers are supposed to have.
Speaking on We're Having Gay Sex, she admitted she feels 'very behind' when it comes to love and relationships as she was busy dealing with the demands of fame while other teens were working this stuff out.

She said: "I’m very behind in the world of love, because most people go to a freshmen dance and they go with a date.
"They go to homecoming with a different date. And then they go to prom 14 times... and they have a summer fling, and they have their hook up in the car in the school parking lot."
"I never had any of that. I feel like a lot of times, I’m an eighth grader in love land."
JoJo also lifted the lid on the way being famous hinders her dating life as she can't do things the way everyone else is able to.

"It’s hard for me. It’s hard for the person I’m dating or talking to, because I can’t do things. Like how most people can go on a dinner date, I can’t go on a dinner date normally," she told the podcast.
Siwa then went on to talk about her sex life and other experiences which 'normal teenagers' might be able to have which she felt unable to do.
She said: "Any time I’m away from house, I’ve only had sex in my own room or hotel room.

"I don’t really know what normal teenagers do but I’m assuming it happens [in a] bathroom stall - wherever - but because of who I am, I can’t do that."
Plenty of podcast listeners praised JoJo for speaking out, with one saying her experience was 'relatable to many queer people' as they admitted they were '22 and don't know anything'.
Someone else said Siwa 'deserves the right to be an adult' and people should 'let her grow up'.
A couple of years ago, JoJo slammed Nickelodeon as she felt she was being 'treated as only a brand' and the restrictions placed on her.
