"We ask that his, Christine's, and their children's privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."
While the reason for the divorce is still unknown, Baumgartner has reportedly cited ‘irreconcilable difference’, according to TMZ.
The outlet also says that they are seeking joint custody of their children and Baumgartner is not filing for spousal support and will be 'payable to petitioner pursuant to the terms of the parties’ Premarital Agreement' according to a filing from Costner's lawyer.

UNILAD has reached out to Costner's reps for additional comment.
The couple had briefly split in 2003 after Baumgartner wanted more children while Costner wasn't sure about having more kids, but reconciled before their marriage the following year.
In 2020, the 68-year-old had spoke to People magazine about how the pandemic had strengthened their marriage.
"Our partnership has really come into focus about what we do for each other and how we deal with our family," the Man of Steel star said, adding: "Our house is like a river: You've just got to get into the flow of it... And whatever you thought it was going to be, maybe it still can, but it's going to have to work with what the day brings."

This news comes after reports that the actor's hit series is rumoured to end after five seasons.
It comes amid reports that Costner had little time for filming, as he focuses on Horizon – a film he has co-written and will be directing.
This allegedly led to the Bodyguard actor requesting to film his scenes for the second half of season five of Yellowstone with a week, to make time for his upcoming project but this was apparently rejected.
And Paramount have since spoken out against these rumours.

"Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built."
Bosses also gave an update on the possibility of another Yellowstone spin-off starring Matthew McConaughey, calling the actor a 'phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner'.
