Born in 1986, Lady Gaga has verified Millennial status. But that hasn’t stopped the singer, 36, from being dubbed as a ‘Boomer’ for allegedly making a ‘fake’ Instagram Boomerang.
I mean, we love the 'Telephone' star just as much as the next person - but that doesn’t mean we can’t agree that her latest Instagram upload does look a little dodgy. Prepare to cringe and watch below:
The A Star Is Born actor was called out by her younger Gen Z counterparts on Tuesday for the post, in which she appeared to replicate a Boomerang by repeating the act of pushing her hair behind her ear over and over rather than using the in-built effect within Instagram Stories.

While promoting the Black Friday sale for her very own Haus Labs makeup brand, Gaga appeared to recreate the video clip which plays on a loop by showcasing a yellow tube of her Hy-Power Pigment Paint.
Whilst tucking her hair behind her ear in the Boomerang-recreation, fans began to notice that her gestures didn’t quite work with a typical Boomerang video.
Plus, her clip didn’t showcase the typical Boomerang effect icon on the screen.

One fan tweeted in response to the video: “Not her making a fake Boomerang. I wonder if she’s being her genius campy self or if she actually thinks that’s what people do when they post Boomerangs…”
“Someone said she put the BOOMER in Boomerang & I’ve been screaming ever since,” a different fan quipped, while someone else noted that they found it hard to believe that a woman of her talents would struggle to locate an actual Boomerang effect.
“Lady Gaga,” they began. “The woman who knows technology well enough to create ultrasonic EDM sounds and songs + produce full-on albums and make interludes like the ones at Chromatica Ball.
“But also the woman who doesn’t know technology well enough to do a Boomerang.”

However, some think the video could be a clever ruse to gain attention.
“She’s actually a genius. Im sure she is sure people will repost the clip everywhere to mock her, but in both of those clips she’s selling a product… and you’re giving her free exposure everywhere,” one fan commented. "“I hadn’t even seen these products on her insta and now thanks to Twitter I have.”
The Grammy-award-winning hitmaker was forced to cancel her final performance of the Chromatica Ball tour in September due to extreme weather conditions in Miami, Florida.

Fans took to supporting the star following her difficult decision after she said: “Look, for years some of you have called me ‘mother monster,’ in my heart I knew it was better to keep you safe. Thank you for believing in me.”
The singer, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has yet to respond to the claims that she faked her Instagram story.
UNILAD has contacted a representative of Lady Gaga for a comment.
