Lizzo has been criticised online for dressing up as rapper Blueface's girlfriend for Halloween.
The 'About Damn Time' singer is known for going all out with her costumes each year, and 2022 is no different.
In a series of clips and photos shared yesterday (29 October), Lizzo showed off her impression of Blueface's on-again, off-again partner Chrisean Rock.

The look included a side ponytail, a huge diamond chain with the word 'Yitty', referencing her sportswear brand, and a missing tooth, which Chrisean had previously claimed she lost while fighting with Blueface's ex Jaidyn Alexis.
Lizzo also got a fake neck tattoo, but she switched out the Blueface portrait for a picture of her own boyfriend.
In one clip, the songwriter – real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson – could be seen lip-syncing to Chrisean’s debut single Vibe.

Many people praised Lizzo for her accurate portrayal, including SZA who replied to the video: "Lmaooo why this so hard," and Doechii who said: "I’m sick you did my idea before me."
It even got the seal of approval from Chrisean herself, who wrote: "Awwwwwwwww I love dis."
However, many people have since slammed Lizzo for dressing up as a woman who appears to be in a toxic relationship.
The couple were recently involved in a public spat in August, as footage released by TMZ appeared to show them in a physical altercation in Hollywood.

Taking to Twitter, one shared Lizzo's lip-syncing clip while writing: "This ain’t it, that woman is in an abusive relationship, of all of the things she could dress up as she chose this?
"There is nothing funny about this Lizzo has to take her L with this one."
Another said: "I rarely side-eye Lizzo for anything, but this Halloween costume is trash, down to the blacked-out tooth.
"That little girl is an abuser who’s in an abusive relationship for the whole world to see, and we’re poking fun for Halloween?? Do better!"

A third added: "I love Lizzo down but them two are clearly in an abusive relationship, idk if it's a good look to dress up as Chrisean..."
But some commenters soon started body shaming, leading Lizzo to speak out and defend herself.

In a now-deleted tweet, one user said, "Now when Chrisean come back in a fat suit… remember how y’all was laughing in these comments."
The singer retorted: "I didn’t put on a 'skinny suit' - u can dress up as someone w/out being offensive - rock lit I’m lit it’s all love. Don’t make it weird."
In another post, Lizzo quoted some of the negative body shaming comments, writing: "I hope she put on a fat suit," alongside three clown emojis and 'GTFOH'.
UNILAD has contacted a rep for Lizzo for comment.
