90 Day Fiancé star Big Ed calls off ‘impulsive’ 24-hour engagement after proposing to stranger with paperclip

90 Day Fiancé star Big Ed calls off ‘impulsive’ 24-hour engagement after proposing to stranger with paperclip

90 Day Fiancé star Big Ed announced that he had proposed for the fourth time after a whirlwind 24 hour romance

Star of 90 Day Fiancé 'Big' Ed Brown has announced that he has called off his spur of the moment engagement.

The reality star had been attending a meet and greet in Plantation, Florida which was being hosted at a sandwich shop called Capriotti's.

There, the 59-year-old had met Porscha Raemond, 29, and the pair had clearly made quite the impression on each other.

So much so in fact that Brown had decided to propose to to Raemond less than 24 hours after they first met.

Brown popped the question at dinner, using a paperclip as a substitute for an engagement ring.

An image of the pair was posted online showing them sharing a kiss while Raemond shows off her 'ring' to the camera.

But it seems that the whirlwind romance was not to be as Brown announced that he had called it off in a post to Instagram.

In the social media announcement, Brown confessed that the whole situation had been 'very impulsive'.

He wrote: "Hey everyone, I want to take a moment to address some recent developments in my personal life.

"As many of you know, I recently proposed in what was a whirlwind and admittedly, a very impulsive moment.

"After some deep reflection and discussions with those closest to me, I've realized that rushing into this decision wasn't the right move."

The reality TV star went on to pay tribute to Raemond, saying: "I have nothing but respect and love for Porscha and I wish her the best moving forward.

"Thanks, as always, for sticking by me."

In a video posted on Instagram, Brown added that 'love is a crazy thing'.

Brown had previously confirmed his short-lived engagement to Raemond in an interview with Page Six on Monday, telling the outlet: “I met her at Capriotti’s in Plantation on Friday where I was doing a Big Ed Meet & Greet."

He added: “They serve the most delicious subs I have ever tried and everyone should know you could meet the next love of your life there!”

The engagement was the fourth time that Brown had made plans to get hitched, having previously been engaged to Liz Woods during their time on 90 Day: The Single Life.

Brown and Woods had been engaged a number of times in an on/off relationship, before finally ending things for good.

Speaking to Page Six in May after the breakup, Brown said that he had been working out at the gym every day and had lost 19 pounds.
