This isn’t the first time Ariana Grande has had to deal with comments about her body but talking about it seemed a touch too much for the star.
Being a celebrity isn’t all glamor and glitz and opens stars up to a whole world of scrutiny from just about everyone that has ever heard of them.
This is likely compounded when you star in one of the biggest films of 2024, namely Wicked.

While fans and critics have continued to praise the film, the two leads, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have had to deal with a whole host of criticism.
A preview of an interview the pair gave as part of the film’s press tour is currently doing the rounds on social media and has been breaking fans’ hearts.
Grande was asked how she dealt with the continuous comments about her body and was struggling to hold back tears.

In the brief clip, co-star Erivo tried to comfort the star, also noting it was a good question from the journalist.
On Twitter, many viewers defended the star and called for less focus on celebrities’ bodies.

One person commented: “I feel so bad for her. the past 2 years she has battled with these body shaming comments from people who don't know how it feels to be in that position."
Another said: “I feel so incredibly sorry for her I actually teared up watching this clip like I can really see how hurt she is. "
A third added: “I just love Ariana so much. But I also love how supportive Cynthia is. You can feel their bond so much. That’s why I loved them in wicked too. Their relationship felt real."
With another simply saying: “Damn people really forget she is a real person behind her pop-actor persona.”

The full interview, with French journalist Sally, is set to be released later today (December 4).
Grande is no stranger to comments about her body and has previously called on people to drop the obsession surrounding it. She said people were comparing her current body to the ‘unhealthiest version of it’
In a 2023 TikTok she said: "I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn't my healthy.

"I know I shouldn't have to explain that, but I do feel like maybe having an openness and some sort of vulnerability here will [mean] something good might come from it. I don't know but that's the first thing. Healthy can look different."
