Armie Hammer jokes about overcoming ‘land mines’ after cannibalism and sexual assault allegations

Armie Hammer has thanked those who have continued to support him despite the accusations he's faced.

Armie Hammer has taken to social media to joke about facing 'a lot of land mines over the last couple of years'.

Armie Hammer has been come under scrutiny in recent years, particularly after a docuseries titled House of Hammer came out on Discovery+ in 2022.

Several former partners of the actor spoke out about their relationships with him, accusing Hammer of abuse and having cannibalism fantasies.

The 37-year-old has since taken to Instagram to thank fans who have stuck by him, while also making a joke about the controversy he's faced.

Hammer took to his Instagram story yesterday (Saturday, 4 November) to share a video of himself working out.

The caption reads: "Been a lot of land mines over the last couple of years... finally found one that works for me #landminepress."

In a follow-up post he shared a blank page with just the text: "All jokes aside thank you for all love and support."

Hammer's ex-girlfriends' accusations in House of Hammer followed a series of screenshots which came to light in January, 2021.

The screenshots were shared by an anonymous woman on Instagram and showed messages allegedly sent by Hammer about his sexual fantasies.

One example reads: "Text me about me breaking your bones while r*ping you."

Multiple other women came forward and in February 2021, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed it was investigating Hammer as 'the main suspect in an alleged sexual assault investigation'.

A woman also came forward a month later claiming Hammer raped her in April 2017.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office announced in Ma this year that Hammer would not face charges due to 'insufficient evidence' and the 'complexity of the relationship' he had with the accuser.

In an interview with Air Mail in February, 2023, Hammer admitted to being emotionally abusive, but continued to deny ever engaging in nonconsensual sex with any of his partners. The actor also said he was left feeling suicidal after the accusations came to light.

In a statement to Vanity Fair in response to the accusations, Hammer's lawyer Andrew Brettler said: "All interactions between Mr. Hammer and his former partners were consensual.

"They were fully discussed, agreed upon in advance with his partners, and mutually participatory.

"The stories perpetuated on social media were designed to be salacious in an effort to harm Mr. Hammer, but that does not make them true."
