Tensions have reached boiling point between singers Azealia Banks and The 1975 frontman, Matty Healy, as the pair came head-to-head in a row on social media.
On Sunday (December 8), Banks shared a copy of a cease and desist notice reportedly sent to Healy by her legal team, accusing him of defamation and threats of violence and demanding a public apology for causing her 'emotional injury' with a $1million settlement to boot.
The letter comes as the pair publicly argued on Twitter earlier this week which started when Banks posted a tweet saying Charli XCX 'used to be soooo pretty'.

Healy responded to her tweet, writing: "All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive and NICE people.
"I think this makes you jealous cos you’re so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro.”
Banks then snapped back that Healy and his fiancee, model Gabbriette, saying 'both look like you share needles'.

In a heated response, Healy then threatened to 'f***ing slap' the New York rapper 'so hard I'll get a Guinness World Record for the highest a rat some b**** calls a wig has ever flown'.
The 35-year-old British singer then apologized for making the threat and deactivated his Twitter account.
However, '212' singer Banks is now seeking compensation from Healy for his comments.

The cease and desist letter, dated Saturday, December 7, from Wallace J. Collins III in New York City, notes the demand for compensation is in response to Healy's 'threats of violence'.
The attorney confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday that his office sent the letter to Healy on Saturday night.
The letter reads: "Your attacks against my client’s professional reputation, your overt racial epithets and your most recent threats of physical violence against my client have been well-documented since you published them worldwide online."
Collins added that Banks 'saved screenshots' of the posts before Healy removed them and that the subsequent 'acknowledgement' of his threat does not 'undo the damage, but rather constitutes evidence of an admission of guilt'.

The letter added that Healy's posts caused Banks to be 'shocked, distressed and emotionally injured' and condemned his words as 'cyber bullying'.

The legal notice stated Healy's reference to Banks as a 'failure' also constitutes as 'slander'.
The letter then ends by demanding Healy cease and desist from making any further threats or statements and makes two demands: a 'prompt' and public apology to Banks in a manner that is 'mutually agreed' between the parties and compensation to the tune of $1m.
UNILAD has contacted Healy's representatives for comment.
