Charlie Sheen's life could have been very different if the actor didn't do Two and a Half Men.
Sheen starred in the sitcom for eight seasons alongside Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones, and the show went on to win a host of awards.
The now-58-year-old was first offered the role of Charlie Harper while he was still married to Denise Richards.

Richards was carrying their first child, Sami, at the time and she reportedly encouraged Sheen to do the show.
They pair also share a second daughter, Lola, together.
Apparently the actor was reluctant to do it in the wake of Sin City being canceled, and also had his eye on another role.

"He was nervous about starting a new TV show after Spin City got canceled," Richards told Bethenny Frankel on her Just B podcast.
"By the way, I read the script for [Two and a Half Men] and said, 'You have to do this show.'"
The model went on: "He was going to do a different show, and I read the script and I go, 'You're crazy for not doing this.'"

As Richards predicted, Two and a Half Men went on to prove hugely popular - but the success of the show came with its downsides.
"I think because [of] the success of Two and a Half Men and the money, I think that led to him getting back into not being sober," Richards reflected.
Insisting that she didn't want to speak on Sheen's behalf, the 52-year-old added: "All I know is he was no longer the person that I married and no longer sober."
Richards marks Sheen's longest standing marriage, with the two celebrities having been married for four years between 2002 and 2006.

Before the model, Sheen had been married to Donna Peele from 1995 to 1996.
He also wed Brooke Mueller in 2008, but they split three years later.
As well as sharing two daughters with Richards, Sheen also has a daughter named Cassandra, whom he shares with American business woman, Paula Profit.

Cassandra has Sheen's birth-given surname of Estevez as he chose the stage name of Charlie Sheen after her birth in 1984.
His younger daughters Sami and Lola go by Sheen, however - with Sami going on to make a name for herself as an OnlyFans content creator.
Sheen has admitted that he's not over the moon about his 19-year-old daughter's business venture, stating that the decision to join the platform did not happen under his roof.
UNILAD has contacted representatives of Charlie Sheen for comment.
