Demi Moore has provided a heartbreaking update on ex-husband Bruce Willis amid his ongoing battle with dementia.

Willis took a step back from acting in 2022 after being diagnosed with the language impairment disorder aphasia.

The Die Hard actor's family provided an update on his health in 2023, stating he had been given a diagnosis of frontotemporal degeneration (FTD).

FTD impacts the lobes of the brain behind the forehead, with symptoms including personality changes, obsessive behavior, and speaking difficulties.

While the pair may not be romantically involved these days, Moore maintains a good relationship with Willis and his wife, Emma Heming Willis.

Moore and Willis were married between 1989 and 2000, and share daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and 31-year-old Tallulah.

Speaking to Variety recently, Moore said: "We will always be a family, just in a different form. For me, there was never a question. I show up because that's what you do for the people you love."

Discussing the fact she and Willis are still pals despite being divorced, Moore added: "I hope it's encouraging for others to see that there's a different way to do things.

"There is life after divorce. There is a way to co-parent with love."

Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show in September last year, Moore detailed what she's been telling her kids amid Willis' ongoing health issues.

"What I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment," Moore said.

"And from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness."

Just one month prior, Tallulah provided a 'painful' update on her father's wellbeing.

Speaking to E! News, she said: "Our visits have so much love and I feel that and that overarches anything for me—being able to have that connection.

“I know I know he knows how much I love him, I know how much he loves me. I know how much he loves all of us."

She continued: "We are in a very unique position where we have this platform. All of us do, all of us in our own ways have a voice and have eyes on us.

"I think it’s been ingrained...how can we use something that’s painful or challenging or a struggle and create awareness about it or find the thing that could be supportive or healing for other people.”
