Hollywood's biggest earner was forced into canceling a commitment in Texas after his private plane malfunctioned while flying over the Pacific Ocean.
Dwayne Johnson has taken to his social media accounts to apologize to the UFL, the United Football League - which is a new professional football league in the US - for having to withdraw from 'hyping up the crowd' as he puts it, due to a terrifying moment he experienced.
"Last night, we had some issues with the plane. About 35 to 40 minutes into the flight, the pilot comes back to me, he gets down on one knee, and he faces me face-to-face, and it's just me on the plane - just me and the crew," The Rock told his fans on Instagram.

"And he says, 'Mr. Johnson, I'm sorry to inform you, but we cannot continue to fly over the ocean, we have a problem. We have to turn the plane around and we have to land back in Hawaii. You have my word, I will land you back safely on the island'. And I so appreciate his demeanor.
"His name is Captain David. I appreciate his demeanor in that moment. And he explained to me what happened, and he said it was a hydraulics issue. Hydraulics issue with overheating."

He continued: "And he said there are some issues that we could work out as we're in the air, and then there's some that we're not going to take a chance, especially over the ocean, and especially when the computer of the airplane is saying, 'Don't fly anymore over the ocean, you got to get back to land'.

"So I so appreciate the crew. I appreciate them getting us back to land safely, appreciate God the universe. I took this as a sign from God in the universe."
The 52-year-old went on to explain just how bad the turbulence was and how the frightening ordeal made him put his life into perspective.
"We've all experienced turbulence on airplanes, and some of us, I'm sure, like me, like you guys, have experienced some really f***ing crazy turbulence where you're like, 'holy s***', drinks are flying, luggage is flying, everything's going in.

"'And you're like, you can't help but think it's human nature. Like, 'man, this is this, this is how I check out.'"
The former WWE star explained how the flight attendant asked if he needed anything, and he joked how he needed a double Teremana - the tequila brand he owns.
He added: "So when you're back there alone with just your drink, and you're thinking about this, and you're just you got everything crossed, hoping you make it back safely, you start to realize really quickly, of the s*** that's really important in life.
"And then you realize the s*** that doesn't matter that you've been thinking about and worrying about anyway, I had one of those moments last night."
