Talulah Riley admitted it ‘looks strange’ that she married Twitter (X) boss Elon Musk twice. After an initial divorce in 2012, the 37-year-old Brit had another go at her relationship with the Tesla CEO with a second marriage in 2013.
And Riley does admit it probably could ‘look strange’ to outsiders that she became Musk’s wife twice, but she says it made ‘sense at the time’.
The actor met the SpaceX CEO in a bar in 2008 and married him the first time in Dornoch Cathedral in the UK in 2010. Their second marriage then ended it all for good in 2016.

Riley previously told The Independent: "I suppose the reason to get remarried was just because it felt silly to be together unmarried after having been married. You know, it’s like a habit. We were saying ‘this is my husband.’ ‘This is my wife.’ ‘Oh, wait, no, we’re not that anymore. We better be that again.’
"You know, it felt silly to go back to ‘this is my boyfriend’ when we’ve been married. So, we just got married again."
Fair enough. But what was being married to Musk like?

During her time coupled up with the business mogul, Riley explained that she took care of his five children from his previous marriage with Justine Musk. However, she insists it 'wasn't really a traditional housewife role'.
"I mean, there were the rockets and the cars, and there were things blowing up… there was a lot going on – a lot that was very stimulating," Riley explains. "We [her, and Musk’s kids] were very involved in what was going on. It was a group effort. A family-wide effort."
Riley adds: "Elon was great. He had me alongside for all of that. So it wasn’t like I was stuck in a mansion in Bel Air like a trophy wife, which would not have been fun. I did, of course, witness that for others. But luckily, that was not my fate."

Despite having since divorced again – Musk having gone on to be linked to Aquaman actor Amber Heard and have two children with Canadian musician Grimes – the business mogul and the actor still have a 'very deep love and connection' for one another.
Riley even acknowledged her ex-husband in her 2018 book, The Quickening, thanking him for being ‘the perfect ex-husband’. She added: "We are in a happy place now, where we’re good to each other, which is really nice. I have here utmost love for him."
Earlier this week, she announced her engagement to Love Actually’s Thomas Brodie-Sangster in a post on Twitter, or should we say her ex’s site, X.
Accompanied by a cosy selfie with the Maze Runner actor, she wrote on 27 July: “Very happy to share that after two years of dating, Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged!”

And Musk actually responded to the engagement tweet (or xeet or whatever he’s wanting us to call them now), replying: “Congratulations!” with a red love-heart emoji.
