Emma Stone's response to Taylor Swift cheering for her at the Golden Globes is 'iconic'.
Yesterday (7 January) at the 81st Golden Globes Awards, Swift and Stone were both nominated for awards - the singer for her Taylor Swift: The Eras concert movie in a new category honoring the year’s films for cinematic and box office achievement, and Stone for her performance in Poor Things.
While Swift went home empty handed, Stone took home the award for Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture, but not before she was asked a slightly bizarre question about her friend Swift.

After winning her Golden Globe and giving her acceptance speech, Stone was faced with answering questions from a crowd of reporters.
One question saw the star asked not about her movie or award-winning performance, but how she felt about Swift 'cheering' her win.
And Stone's response? Well, it's nothing short of iconic.

In a video of the moment, Stone slinks up to the microphone and quickly quips: "What an a**hole am I right?"
Cue raucous laughter from everyone in the audience.
The actor glides away again but then hops back on over to the podium to note she's known the singer for 'almost 20 years' and was 'very happy' Swift was there at the awards ceremony with her.
"She was also nominated tonight which was wonderful and... Yes, what an a**hole," Stone resolved.

And Stone and Swift fans are flocking to social media to weigh in on the question and actor's response.
Fans of the pair are flooding to X - formerly known as Twitter - in stitches over the joke.
An X user wrote: "I love their friendship so much."

"This damn reporter be asking the dumbest question," another added, while a third commented: "The only friendship that matters."
"MAKE HER HOST IM BEGGING," a fourth added.
And a final said: "I love seeing women supporting women, friends supporting friends & people supporting people but why not ask Emma about the work she does instead? Since that’s what she got an award for? … there’s a time and place to fangirl over Taylor Swift & it’s called Twitter."

However, some poor things didn't quite latch on to the friends' sense of humor.
One user said: "Hilarious... Jk. Meh."
"It's giving, who's taylor swift anyways? ew," a second added, as another commented: "Guess Emma can't take a joke either."
And a fourth wrote: "That's a joke?"
Tough crowd. Tough crowd. But with a Golden Globe in her hands, it'll definitely be pretty easy for Stone to shake any negative comments off.
