Grammys red carpet reporters apologize after facing huge backlash over ‘disrespectful’ Babyface interview

Grammys red carpet reporters apologize after facing huge backlash over ‘disrespectful’ Babyface interview

Fans were enraged by the snub

Reporters stationed at the red carpet for the 2025 Grammys have apologized after facing huge backlash over a 'disrespectful' interview with Babyface.

There were some fashion faux pas and uncomfortable looks strutting down the red carpet ahead of the 67th Grammys awards tonight (Sunday, February 2). However, two reporters behind the scenes of some of the star-studded interviews landed themselves in the spotlight for apparently being 'rude' to one of the celebs.

Krysta Fauria and Leslie Ambriz, reporters for the Associated Press, were in the midst of speaking to iconic musician and producer Babyface when they apparently got distracted by another Hollywood star.

The 65-year-old, whose real name is Kenneth Brian Edmonds, has 13 Grammy Awards under his belt already, having written and produced more than 26 number-one R&B hits in his glittering career and is recognized as one of the 50 best music producers of all time.

Yet the interview turned slightly sour when the journalists spotted Chappel Roan and passed her the microphone in a blunder that has since gone viral.

In the middle of the conversation, Fauria started calling out to Chappel, during which Babyface humbly backed out of the spot and urged the reporters to 'go do that'.

But dozens have slammed the reporters on Twitter, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, Khloe Kardashian.

Khloe wrote: "This is so disrespectful how Babyface was treated in this interview. Babyface has had such a significant impact on the music industry, in sooo many ways.

"It's maddening to see a LEGEND not get the respect and attention they deserve. He is a pioneer and deserves so much better than this. With decades of groundbreaking work as a songwriter, producer, and performer, he's shaped the sound of multiple generations."

"I love you @babyface," the reality TV star continued, "And I am a forever fan and thankful for all that you have blessed us with.

"By the way- what a class act you are. PS big or small, old or new, - you don't treat people like this. At least not in my eyes. There's a way to handle this and this was wrong in my opinion."

Others agreed with her, writing that the actions were 'completely rude and unprofessional'. However, the reporters have since apologized for their error.

Speaking after the incident on the red carpet, Fauria said: "I wanted to say that I’m really sorry about interrupting Babyface earlier. Chappell Roan had come up, and there was a lot of commotion as there is on these carpets.

"But I’m a big Babyface fan and as are we all, and so I just wanted to say that I really apologize."
