Kate Winslet's co-star claims she was left with 'lots of bruises' after intense sex scene

Patrick Wilson has addressed long-held rumors about a film he shot back in 2006 with Kate Winslet where the pair got a little steamy.

Actor Patrick Wilson is well aware that in Hollywood things have changed significantly over the last 20 years.

Kate Winslet and Wilson starred together in the 2006 film Little Children, where they played two bored parents who eventually act on their mutual attraction after pairing their kids together in a string of play dates.

Fans of the film tend to fondly remember the moment the two get together as it is a rather steamy affair.

Speaking on the It Happened in Hollywood podcast, Wilson broke down the scene and admitted he felt like a bit of a ‘dinosaur’ being a part of it since the industry has moved on to include intimacy coordinators.

He said: “[Kate] was so cool and gracious and just a gamer – just like, ‘Let’s go for it.’

“There was never one awkward or weird moment. Never one. I loved it.”

Wilson also clarified that no body doubles were used to shoot the scene, so it really was him and Winslet butt-a** naked although they did use modesty coverings which were kept out of shot.

Admitting this, he had to address rumors that Winslet ended up with bruises thanks to the *vigorous* performance from the two actors.

He said: “I’m sure there were lots of bruises. Put it this way: I haven’t done a scene like that since post-#MeToo and intimacy coordinators.

“I do feel a little bit like a dinosaur when it comes to [having appeared in] those kind of love scenes.”

Around the time of the film’s release, Winslet also said she enjoyed filming the scenes and explained how the pair got the best out of each other for the performance.

Speaking on the intimate scene she said herself and Winston rehearsed the scene just the two of them fully clothed to get a feel for what would work on camera.

She said: “We rehearsed the scene fully clothed, without anyone in the room; just us and Todd, and we just got a general shape of the scene so we knew what to expect.

“We did look out for each other and we laughed a hell of a lot. It sounds ridiculous but at a certain point you forget that you’re naked with a relative stranger. … My hips and backside really hurt the next day.”
