Keke Palmer put podcaster and interviewer Bobbi Althoff on the spot as she asked her whether she was an industry plant.

You ever found a celebrity has shot to massive fame in a tiny amount of time? Like they seem to just pop up overnight?

Well, actor Keke Palmer addressed the suspicions around Bobbi Althoff during her podcast last week.

Althoff very much seems to be one of the top pop-culture interviewers going right now, being able to land impressive guests like Drake, Michael Cera and Offset on her podcast named The Really Good podcast.

During her interviews she has admitted to taking inspiration from comedian Zach Galifianakis, who would ask bizarre questions, conduct stunts and take jabs at some of the world’s biggest celebrities.

But her seeming overnight success has caused some people to accuse her of being an 'industry plant' .

During her own podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer, the actor and singer Palmer confronted Althoff about her rise to fame and whether she was an industry plant.

“There is always the industry plant gag, you're not an industry plant, right?” Palmer asked.

Althoff jokingly agreed that she was and then admitted she didn’t quite understand the term.

For those out of the know, the term essentially means a person presents an image of independence and rising to success through hard work when in actuality they got to where they were due to their wealth, nepotism and connections.

They may also be secretly funded or supported by those already successful in the industry.

Althoff continued: “I mean I don’t truly know, I feel like it means the industry is helping you.

“I guess I applied, and they were like, yeah.”

Palmer hit back and said: “What I think an industry plant is, somebody that is tied to somebody else in the industry and uses those connections to capitalize and they have like zero talent.”

The podcaster and Palmer then began laughing at Althoff’s lack of understanding surrounding the term.

Althoff said her life would have been a lot easier if she had ties but confirmed that she did not have any ties to the industry ahead of her success.

Palmer did note that the pair had the same manager and noted Althoff shot to fame very quickly when it took her a lot longer.

Social media users were quick to say Palmer had conducted a great interview and put Althoff on the spot, while others remarked that the podcaster continued to throw in her jokes and some of her sarcastic comments were lost on the viewers.

Either-way, looks like fans finally have their answer.
