Awkward moment Logan Paul is asked if he's allowed to enter Japan after 'suicide forest' controversy

Awkward moment Logan Paul is asked if he's allowed to enter Japan after 'suicide forest' controversy

The YouTuber was questioned whether he can still enter Japan after he published a video in Tokyo's infamous 'suicide forest'

Warning: this article mentions suicide which some readers may find distressing.

Things got awkward during a podcast appearance by Logan Paul after the conversation turned to Japan.

Paul and Mike Majlak had been interviewing wrestler Dominik Mysterio on the IMPAULSIVE podcast.

Dominik had been talking about how he frequently gets to travel with his job, and opened up that he had just returned from Japan, saying: "It was really nice, we had a blast."

The wrestler then knowingly asks the two hosts: "You guys ever been to Japan?"

Paul has previously faced heavy criticism after he filmed a video in the Aokigahara forest at the base of Mount Fuji.

This is known to be a location with a very high number of suicides, and in the video the group actually encounters the body of a man.

Many viewers slammed the video as 'disgusting' and 'disrespectful'.

So needless to say, bringing up Japan with Logan Paul was a very pointed thing to do for Dominik.

After Dominik's question Paul appears to become uncomfortable, and sheepishly says: "I got prior obligations."

Majlak tried to step in to rescue his cohost, saying: "He has been busy he just hasn't had time to go there."

In an awkward moment he seemed to have been building up to, Dominik then bluntly asks: "Can you go?"

A flustered Paul replied: "Bro, what do you think this - yes I can go to Japan."

"I'm just making sure" Dominik says, before Paul interrupts saying: "No, I can go to Japan."

Dominik continues to press the issue, saying: "I didn't know if you were like, shadow-banned or something?", before Majlak suggests the term 'excommunicated', prompting some nervous laughter.

Dominik added: "Dude I didn't know if you were put on a list or something"

Paul then replies more fully, saying: "I've never said this before but my rule was if I went back I'd like to be invited back, and I haven't gotten the invite yet."

Majlak asked: "Who are you trying to get invited by?" and Paul replied: "My best bet is the WWE".

Dominik then layered on the awkwardness and quipped: "Especially if you show up with the hat", in reference to a green gremlin-type hat Paul wore during the video.

Paul replied: "Bro that was too far, that was too far," before the three swiftly changed tack.

In an apology issued after the video, Paul said previously: "I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through.

"I'm ashamed of myself. I'm disappointed in myself."
