Miley Cyrus reveals why she doesn't socialize with many celebrities

Miley Cyrus says there are 'certain artists' she does see

Miley Cyrus has opened up about why she doesn't appear to hang out with other members of her celebrity 'community'.

As the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley has been in celebrity circles her whole life and her breaking out as the lead character in Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana at the age of 13 only cemented this.

However, despite going on to chase her music career and even winning her first Grammy award earlier this year, Miley isn't often spotted hanging out with other celebs, and has now revealed why.

Miley's mom Tish Cyrus may be married to actor Dominic Purcell and Miley herself was even married to actor Liam Hemsworth, however, nowadays Miley isn't spotted as much hanging round celebrity crowds.

In season five of David Letterman's Netflix talk show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction - which premiered on the streaming service yesterday (12 June) - Miley explained she's 'not very active or a very active part of [her] community of other artists and entertainers and celebrities'.

Why? Well, the 'Flowers' singer continues: "It just doesn’t feel like my people when I’m in that room."

However, there are some artists she does feel connected too.

She explains: "There are certain artists like Beyoncé - who, like us, we’ve known each other for a long time."

Well, quality over quantity eh?

Indeed, Miley even appeared on Beyoncé's latest album Cowboy Carter.

The singers duetted on the track 'II Most Wanted' and Miley also took to her Instagram after the album was released to thank Queen Bey.

Sharing a photograph of the album's cover, Miley wrote: "I’ve loved Beyoncé since long before I had the opportunity to meet & work with her. My admiration runs so much deeper now that I’ve created along side of her.

"Thank you Beyoncé. You’re everything & more. Love you. To everyone who spent time making this song so special thank you from the bottom of my heart."

And it's not just the Queen Bee Miley hangs around with.

Miley recalls her performance of 'Just Stand Up' - a song for created for charity Stand Up to Cancer - and being 'sandwiched between Rihanna and the Queen Bey' at Radio City Music Hall, New York in 2008.

The singer said: "And they’re fully grown up, gorgeous, probably similar to my age now. Towering over me, completely stunning.

"I’m like, super small, have acne, have braces on the back of my teeth, and I’m standing next to Mariah Carey, who is dripping in diamonds. And Beyoncé was so kind to me."

Miley says her friendships today are based on 'kindness and consistency' resolving: "So I’m apart of my community in that way but, again, it’s all quality, not quantity. I’m not very active in that."
