Rob Schneider responds after daughter candidly speaks about their 'toxic' relationship

Grown Ups actor Rob Schneider has shared a message to his daughter Elle King and asked for her to 'forgive' him

Grown Ups actor Rob Schneider has opened up about his relationship with daughter Elle King after she spoke out about several 'toxic' experiences growing up.

Singer songwriter Elle King - real name Tanner Elle Schneider - opened up about her childhood and relationship to her dad in a podcast interview despite allegedly previously having been warned by the actor to not 'talk about [him] in the press'.

In clip of an interview led by BunnieXO on her 'Dumb Blonde' podcast - shared to TikTok - King opened up about her relationship with her father after the host admitted Schneider was one of her 'childhood crushes'.

King claimed any summers she spent with her dad were on a 'movie set' where she ended up 'lost in the shuffle' and would 'get in f**king trouble' if she 'ever messed up a shot'.

She also claimed her dad 'sent [her] to fat camp' where she 'got in trouble one year because [she] sprained [her] ankle and didn't lose weight,' reflecting on the experience as 'very toxic and very silly'.

King revealed she spent 'four or five years' without communicating with her dad at one stage of her life however, after she released her first record, people 'started asking' about him and he made contact.

The singer also took the time to clarify she 'disagree[s] with a ot of the things that he says' about 'anti-gay rights' and 'drag,' telling him to 'get f**ked'.

And Schneider has since responded to his daughter's comments.

In an interview with Tucker Carlson, the actor took the time to directly address his daughter.

In a clip of the interview shared to Instagram yesterday (August 14), the actor said: "I wanted to tell my daughter, Elle I love you. And I wish I was the father in my 20s that you needed and clearly I wasn't and I hope that you can forgive me for my shortcomings.

"I love you completely. I love you entirely and I just want you to be well and happy with your beautiful baby Lucky. I wish you all the best.

"I feel terrible and I just want you to know that I don't take anything that you say personally."

He resolved to Carlson: "If you love somebody completely, I love her and all I want for her is to be happy and to heal from this."

UNILAD has contacted King's representatives for comment.
