Sarah Paulson has revealed the 'secret' to maintaining a happy relationship with partner Holland Taylor.
The 49-year-old American Horror Story actor and 81-year-old Two and a Half Men star first met in 2005 but didn't date until years later, before going public with their romance in 2015.
Having been together nearly a decade, Paulson has since opened up about the 'sort of secret' to them working so well as partners.
The pair have a 32-year age gap between them, however, this has never bothered either of them, with Taylor previously telling Modern Luxury back in 2018 if anyone wants to 'spend any time thinking [she's] strange for loving the most spectacular person on the planet' then ultimately that's 'their problem'.

Paulson added to Town & Country magazine she doesn't want to be 'defined' by who she shares her 'bed, home' and 'soul with'.
But the pair don't always share the same bed or home and on an episode of SmartLess with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, & Will Arnett - which aired yesterday (May 13) - Paulson opened up about the 'secret' to her happy relationship and why it works for them.
The American Horror Story star revealed: "We don’t live together, that’s the sort of secret. Holland and I, we spend plenty of time together but we don’t live in the same house.

"We’ve been together for a long time now and I think part of it has to do with, we’re together when we wanna be and we’re not when we don’t."
The conversation around how to have a successful relationship and getting a healthy amount of space from your partner has previously been raised by fellow actor Cameron Diaz, who argued it should be 'normalized' for couples to sleep in different bedrooms.
But why don't Paulson and Taylor take this approach opposed to completely separate houses?

Well, Paulson explained: "No, because we like to fall asleep holding hands. We sleep holding hands - I like to sleep near her."
The actor noted she and Taylor aren't 'exactly the same' and so 'do some things separately so everyone gets to be true to what they believe'.
"She’s much more social," Paulson continued. "And I like a little bit of alone time, so I have that. She spends some time with friends and not with me, so it’s a good balance."
