People have been left feeling 'embarrassed' for Mark Wahlberg after his appearance in a 'weird' Super Bowl commercial.
This year's Super Bowl sees the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers battle it out at Nevada's Allegiant Stadium, as each team competes to take home the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy.
And while the main action is on the field of play, there is certainly a lot of attention on the Super Bowl commercials as well.

So far, we've seen the first trailer for Deadpool 3, among many other exciting announcements.
But perhaps one of the more surprising commercials of the night so far features Wahlberg as he teams up with actor Jonathan Roumie from TBN’s The Chosen. Watch it below:
The pair joined forces to encourage prayer in a 30-second commercial for the Catholic app Hallow.

“God, we take this moment just to give You thanks,” Walhberg’s voice says in the Super Bowl commercial.
Following that, a message appeared on screen, saying: "For the first time ever, join over 100 million people in prayer during Super Bowl LVIII."
Speaking in a press release touting the Super Bowl commercial, Alex Jones, Hallow co-founder and CEO, said: "The goal at Hallow has always been to reach out to as many folks as possible, both those who take their faith seriously and especially those who might have fallen away, and invite them deeper into a relationship with God.
"When we learned about the timing of the Big Game this year, we couldn’t have been more excited to work with Mark and Jonathan to use it as an opportunity to invite millions into prayer."

The Hallow app essentially offers prayer-on-the-go, and has been dowloaded 10 million times across 150 countries since it released in 2018.
As for Wahlberg, he previously discussed his religious views and how he likes to keep a 'balance' with that and his public persona.
Speaking to Savanna Guthrie, as per People, the actor said: "I don’t want to jam it down anybody’s throat, but I do not deny my faith. That’s an even bigger sin.

"You know, it’s not popular in my industry, but I cannot deny my faith,” he said. “It’s important for me to share that with people. But I have friends from all walks of life and all different types of faith and religions, so it’s important to respect and honor them as well."
However, Wahlberg's involvement in the commercial has left viewers a little confused.
"Congrats to Mark Wahlberg for making sure that Ben Affleck didn’t embarrass Boston the most this Super Bowl," one person wrote on X.
A second added: "Somehow the Mark Wahlberg as is atop my leaderboard of weirdest Super Bowl commercials so far."

While a third remarked: "Did I just hear Mark Wahlberg say 'stay prayed up'?"
