Awards season is usually the time for celebrities to show off their finest outfits, but one star decided to take a more unusual approach at the Emmys last night.
In among the designer dresses, slick suits and shiny jewellery, an actual goblin stepped on to the red carpet and posed for the cameras.

And no, I'm not just being extremely critical about someone's look.
With a green dress, green skin, a long nose and large, pointy ears, this was a goblin in the flesh; a look that proved so convincing that fans couldn't even work out who was underneath it.
"Uh... why is there a green goblin on the red carpet just doing her thing like its nbd?" one viewer questioned, while another added: "Who is the green goblin."

"Sorry is anyone gonna talk about the green goblin that was on the red carpet for the Emmy’s," wrote a third.
As well as being a whole look in itself, the goblin's outfit featured a number of pop culture references to famous fictional creatures, including Jabba the Hutt, Roz from Monsters, Inc., and a witch from Tom Cruise's movie Legend.
But despite appearing as a monster, the goblin didn't wreak havoc on the event and instead simply posed for the cameras and enjoyed the show along with the rest of the stars.
Who was the green goblin at the Emmys?
The bizarre display left people desperate for answers, and before long the true identity of the goblin was revealed as RuPaul's Drag Race star Princess Poppy.

The drag queen joined her castmates on the red carpet, where she also gave an interview to explain why she opted for such a dramatic look.
"I wanted to do the exact opposite of what is expected of you when you go to an event like this. I wanted to take decorum and turn it on its head," she told Entertainment Weekly.
"Mainly I wanted to be a troll-slash-hag. I wanted to be so shocking that you just have to turn and look at me - in the worst way possible."

Poppy has been celebrated for her alternative take on the event, with one X user describing her as the 'best drag queen in the entire world'.
Another wrote: "Thinking of all the drag race girls who served stunning beauty at the Emmy's only to be overshadowed by the green goblin mother. This is what Ru meant when she said Uniqueness and Nerve."
RuPaul's Drag Race got even more attention at the Emmys as it received awards for Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Reality Or Competition Program and Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Competition Program.
