During a recent gig at Madison Square Garden, lead singer Hayley Williams, 34, brought a very famous fan on stage for a performance on Wednesday (31 May)
The ‘Just Wanna Rock’ performer joined the band on stage for a new rendition of ‘Misery Business’, Paramore’s breakout hit from 2007, which they only recently started performing again.
Lil Uzi Vert has always been vocal about his love for Paramore so the impromptu collaboration on stage must have been a huge moment for the 27-year-old.
When the rapper – whose real name is Symere Bysil Woods – joined the band on stage, he looked a little shy. Hayley Williams welcomed him with open arms and said: “Hey! Uzi! We’ve been talking for a minute, but this is the first time we’ve met in person. I love you. You’ve said too many nice things about me. You are so sweet to me and to Paramore.”

She continued: “You’ve said too many nice things about me. You are so sweet to me and to Paramore, so can we do this bridge again together? And then we’re gonna melt their faces off. Alright? New York City, are you ready? Here we go!”
Lil Uzi Vert and Paramore sang the ‘Misery Business’ bridge together as fans at the venue screamed.
The rapper jumped and hopped across the stage, alongside Williams who did the same.

As the crowd chanted Lil Uzi Vert’s name, Williams told the rapper: “That was the most fun that I’ve ever had meeting a celebrity.”
The music crossover has had a mixed reception online. “That’s awesome! So. What’s a Lil Uzi Vert?” one fan quizzed.
A confused Twitter user responded: “Random but okay.”
A third wrote: “Very random.”

Someone else shared: “This is so random, but so dope!”
Another social media user, who is a fan of both artists, said the performance ‘made their dreams come true’.
They tweeted: “Paramore and Lil Uzi Vert just made my dreams come true! This collab is fire and I can't stop listening to Misery Business!" Check my pin tweet bro.”

In March 2020, Williams told Zane Lowe that she declined an invitation to collaborate with Lil Uzi Vert because she thought it would bring about an uncomfortable level of fame.
“I remember too Uzi asking me to do some stuff with him and I know that fans are going to be so pissed at me for saying this,” she explained, “but I literally wrote him back on Instagram and I was like, ‘Buddy, I love you so much, but I don’t want to be that famous.’”
Dreams do come true!
