Scarlett Johansson once opened up about her brief marriage to Ryan Reynolds.
As Hollywood moves so quickly it can be tough to keep up with all the relationship drama that goes on.

Some of your favourite actors could have been an item once upon a time and if predated the age of social media updates, it might have gone under the radar.
Case and point, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds.
The pair got married in 2008 but their romance was short-lived and the two separated in 2011.
However, they have both remained fairly quite tight-lipped about this old romance and (at least publicly) don’t tend to speak about it much.

Since then, both actors have gone one to marry again, with Reynolds getting hitched to Gossip Girl star Blake Lively a year later, and Johansson marrying twice more, Romain Dauriac in 2014 and Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost in 2020.
However, the topic did come up during Johansson's appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow's The goop Podcast in 2023.
With the conversation moving onto partners and marriage, Paltrow said she couldn't believe Johansson used to be with the Deadpool star.

"Oh that's right, because I forgot that you were married to Ryan Reynolds!" Paltrow said, before adding: "Goals!"
Laughing, Johansson clarified that it was a short-lived romance.
"We weren’t married very long, but we were when I first met you, for Iron Man [2] or whatever,” she said.
Paltrow went on: "We love a good Ryan Reynolds in our house."

In agreement, Johansson said: “He’s a good guy.”
The pair first tied the knot in September 2008 at a private ceremony but in December 2010, they announced their split in a joint statement.
“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” it read.

"We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated."
One positive to come out of their divorce, though, for Johansson at least, is that she never had to watch her husband get mashed potato eaten out of his butthole. That spectacle was left for Lively to enjoy.
Well, kind of, I mean, movies are real, right?
I guess it half comes with the territory of being with Reynolds as the funny man is not one to shy away from the most ridiculous of comedic moments.
