People can't believe Shaq was a pro athlete after seeing his 'unathletic' golf swing

People can't believe Shaq was a pro athlete after seeing his 'unathletic' golf swing

Shaq simply couldn't compete with golf legend Lee Trevino.

Tall - rich - handsome - but s**t at golf.

Being a four-time NBA champion and one of the greatest basketballers of all time clearly doesn't mean much on the golf course.

A viral clip of Shaquille O'Neal playing golf at The Greenbrier Classic 2015 has resurfaced on social media and people are looking back on it with fondness.

PGA Tour shared the clip on Twitter today (6 March) while wishing the big man a happy 51st birthday, writing in the caption: "Never a dull moment."

Dressed in a cool all-black shirt and trousers, Shaq took to the golf field and definitely looked the part. However, it all went downhill when he came into contact with the golf club.

Shaq goes for a short backswing while rotating his hips as fast as he can, presumably to generate as much power as possible.

Despite swinging with such force, he completely misses the ball and smashed the driver into the ground - multiple times.

His backswing then puts the ball into the water, which isn't really ideal.

Commenting on the clip, people were amazed how a professional basketball player happened to lack, ever so slightly, in athleticism.

"How is a pro athlete that unathletic lol," one viewer thought.

Another person pointed out: "Some of the best athletes in the world can't swing a golf club," while someone else joked: "He is as good at golf as he was at free throws!"

Well, just last month the basketball legend hit back at Rihanna haters who criticised her epic Super Bowl halftime performance.

RiRi's first performance in seven years took place at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on 12 February, 2023.

The 34-year-old kicked off the show suspended high above the stadium dressed all in red, surrounded by her dancers dressed in all white.

Despite being able to perform while pregnant, some viewers were critical of her set, as former President of the United States, Donald Trump, branded it the worst Super Bowl performance ever.

However, Shaq has since encouraged the likes of Trump to simply 'shut the f**k up'.

Speaking on The Big Podcast with Shaq, the former basketball star said: "All you people disrespecting my Rihanna, shut your face. Shut it up.

"We're living in a world where people got too much freedom. Keep your f**king thoughts to yourself. She did a wonderful job, she's pregnant, she blessed it, she did her thing, she didn't fall. Just leave it there."

He then added: "All you superstars that's disrespectful and causing beef, shut your face. Shut it up."
