Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actor Tenoch Huerta has released a statement following allegations made against him of sexual assault.
The actor has been accused online of sexual assault by musician and activist María Elena Ríos after she posted a series of tweets.
She accused Huerta of being a 'violent and sexual predator' and claimed that Mexican organisation Poder Prieto pursued her in an attempt to 'avoid scandals over their Marvel movie'.

Ríos claimed that Huerta was a 'narcissist' who was 'charming in appearance', and that it was 'difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and abuse of power of a sexual predator'.
When someone asked her if Huerta had assaulted her, she claimed it was so concerning the actor who appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and was rumored to be set for further appearances in the MCU.
Huerta has since responded with a statement published on his social media channels, where he denied the accusations made against him.

The actor wrote: "A false and completely unsubstantiated accusation about me has spread like wildfire - and I cannot let it go unchallenged any longer.
"About a year ago, I dated Elena for several months. It was entirely consensual at all times, as countless others can attest. And throughout it was a loving, warm and mutually supportive relationship.
"After it ended, however, Elena began to misrepresent our interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends.
"As a result, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to commence the appropriate actions to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false accusations that can cause great prejudice and damage."

His statement continued: "Although I am by no means perfect, I know that these allegations are simply untrue.
"And while I will always work to improve myself, I need to contest claims which are both false and offensive.
"I am deeply grateful to my family and the people who have supported me and greatly appreciate everyone who is willing to look at the facts and reflect before rushing to an untrue and unjust conclusion."

The actor's statement had been shared in his Instagram Stories.
Huerta is not the only Marvel actor to have faced similar allegations in recent months as Jonathan Majors was charged with assault and harassment in New York back in April.
According to the authorities, a woman was taken to hospital, while representatives of Majors have said he hasn't done anything wrong.
