One of the thieves who robbed Kim Kardashian of $10 million (£8.43 million) worth of jewellery in 2016 has blamed the star for flaunting her wealth online.
Yunis Abbas, who spent almost two years in jail for the crime but was recently released due to ill health, said Kardashian ‘should have been less showy’ and revealed he doesn’t feel guilty about the crime.
Abbas also said he wasn’t surprised that the heist left Kardashian 'traumatised’ and went into intimate detail about the night.

Speaking to Vice, Abbas shared: “They should be a little less showy towards people who can’t afford it. For some people, it’s provocative.”
He added: “Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that. Guilty? No, I don’t care.”
Abbas said he stayed downstairs to keep guard while the other thieves barged into Kardashian’s room, tied her up and put her in a bathtub.

“Madame Kardashian’s secretary called for help. But she called 911 in the United States, which scared us, which made them lose a lot of time,” said Abbas.
“And when we got out, there was a bunch of police outside who didn’t know anything about the robbery.”
Abbas, who has reportedly been in and out of jail over the years for various crimes, also admitted he understands why Kardashian was emotionally scarred.

“You don’t come out of it unscathed. Of course she must have been traumatised,” Abbas acknowledged.
Most of the thieves involved in the robbery - including Abbas - were over 60. Twelve people ended up being arrested for the crime, and Abbas’s early release is thought to be down to heart issues.
During an appearance on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman back in 2020, Kardashian broke down while talking about the horrific incident, sharing intimate details about the crime with Letterman.

Kardashian told the chat show host: “He grabbed me and I was wearing a robe and I wasn't wearing anything under it.”
She continued: “He grabbed me and pulled me towards him [...] then he tied me up with handcuffs and zip ties and duct tape."
The reality TV star went on: "I saw him have a gun out to me. And I'm like, 'OK, this is it'. And I just kept on thinking about Kourtney.
"I kept on thinking, 'She's gonna come home and I'm going to be dead in the room. She's gonna be traumatised for the rest of her life if she sees me'. We're sharing her room. [I'm] on her bed. I thought that was my fate."
