If social media has taught us anything, it's that we can't resist a bit of insight into other people's lives. But out of every Instagram user in the world, it's one family in particular most people want to see.
Much like the world's richest people, the top 10 most followed Instagram accounts have more followers than most of us could ever expect to see in our lifetimes.
It puts my measly three-figure follower count to shame, but considering I'm not a sports star, singer, actor or even an app, I can understand why I didn't make the cut.

Take a scroll to see which accounts did, and to find out which of their owners are related:
10. Khloé Kardashian
Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Khloé has amazed fans with her 'transformation' as she changed her look over the years, and she now uses the platform to promote her clothing brand Good American, as well as sharing frequent posts showing off new outfits, hairstyles and events.

With 295 million followers, the 37-year-old has some way to go to catch up with her sister Kim, but still managed to make the cut.

9. Beyoncé
Being Beyoncé, the singer had to feature in the top 10 at some point - though she's obviously not the Queen of the app - more just Insta royalty.

Bey had a quiet period on the platform towards the end of last year, but has made a big comeback in recent weeks as singles from her most recent album Renaissance continue to hit the charts.
Beyoncé just made it into the top 10 with 297 million followers.
8. Kim Kardashian
In case you hadn't already guessed, I can confirm that it's the ever-intriguing Kardashian family who most Instagram users want to know about, with Khloé and Kim not being the only two members who feature in the top 10 list.

After her rise to stardom and role in Keeping Up With The Kardashians, as many as 346 million fans have been desperate to get updates on Kim's life amid her split from Kanye West and later her romance with Pete Davidson.
7. Ariana Grande
Grande obviously caught the attention of everyone who grew up watching Victorious before diving head-first into the world of social media.

Her fanbase only increased as she established herself as a huge pop star, and her selfies, song snippets and style have encouraged 357 million people to hit that follow button.

6. Dwayne Johnson
Former wrestler, actor, all-around beloved star, of course Johnson had to feature in top 10.
Fans love to know what The Rock eats, learn about his workout routines and just generally snoop on his celebrity life, which recently took him into the DC Universe as he made his debut as Black Adam.
The Rock's antics have earned him 365 million followers on Instagram, making him the only male actor to make the cut.
5. Kylie Jenner
Having just lost her crown as the most-followed woman on Instagram, Jenner has just made it into our top five by the skin of her teeth - by which I mean about a million followers.
Social media is one of the main ways fans can stay connected to Jenner, where the model shares snaps of her home life and children, and doing so has earned her a cool 380 million followers - the most out of all of her famous family.
4. Selena Gomez
If you've been waiting for her name, here she is. Gomez became the most-followed woman on Instagram this month, despite the fact she doesn't even have the app on her phone.
In an interview Vanity Fair, Gomez claimed she only has TikTok on her phone but posts photos on Instagram through her assistant.
Her method is obviously one that works, because she now has a whopping 381 million followers.
3. Leo Messi
Football fans won't be too surprised to learn that World Cup champion Lionel Messi is the third most followed Instagram user.
Messi was celebrated across the globe when Argentina won the world cup, with fans flooding to social media to watch Messi's celebrations of the event. He has 432 million followers on Instagram.
2. Cristiano Ronaldo
Portuguese footballer Ronaldo is the most followed man on the platform.
Ronaldo surpassed the 500 million mark with followers in November 2022, and has only increased since then.
He now has 550 million followers, which he keeps happy with snaps of workouts and from the sporting world. More recently, fans have been following his journey to Saudi Arabia, where he has signed with club Al Nassr.
1. Instagram
No, I wasn't kidding when I said an app is among the most-followed accounts on Instagram. Not only that, but it's actually the most followed account of all the accounts out there.
I suppose it makes sense that Instagram's Instagram is a popular one, given that none of us would have our own accounts without it, but what images does an app have to post? Just other images that have been posted on the app?
It turns out, yes, that's it exactly. Instagram's 607 million followers are entertained with a range of popular Instagram content, including pictures of cute pets, reels, food posts and selfies. It's your entire feed in one page.
The list, determined by Social Blade, shows that the Kardashian/Jenners still prove fascinating to social media fans after all these years, but could Gomez's new crown show that beginning to change?
