After speaking to medical professionals, she decided to use laser surgery to have the 'port-wine stain' birthmark removed - which, as per KidsHealth, is a birthmark that tends to gets darker over time rather than fading.
She insisted she did it so her son would not have to deal with the issues that could arise from it in the future.
However, some social media users dubbed the mother a ‘child abuser’ and criticised the move, as one person commented: "Oh my Jesus Christ, how can you do that to him?"

"I think this is just wrong, they should wait until he is 18 and can decide for himself if he wants it removed or not,” added another.
However, Brooke has stood her ground and insisted she did not take the decision for cosmetic reasons.
Addressing the backlash in a viral TikTok video with over 1.6 million views views, she said: "The reason we started so early with the laser is due to the fact it is a port-wine stain birthmark. Portwine stain birthmarks do not fade, they do not disappear.
“They darken over time, they can progress and become lumpy and cause health issues. The younger they are the better it is to start the laser because it is fresh on their skin and it is less stubborn.

"Over time it will become more stubborn and they will need more sessions in the future."
She closed by reiterating: "I think he is the most beautiful boy in the whole entire world. I don’t give a f**k if he has a birthmark on his face or not. It p*sses me off that people think this is purely for cosmetic purposes when it isn't."
Despite the furious backlash, on Facebook, other people have defended Brooke for her decision and said she made a smart choice, especially since she did research beforehand.

“His skin will heal faster whilst still so young, and it'll save him from the unkindness of children who don't know better, and adults who should know better,” one user commented.
“She absolutely made the right choice because it’s her call. Her child will avoid years of bullying and possible health issues,” another wrote.
“She would have been criticized either way tbh. At least she did her due diligence and research before making a decision,” a third added.
