A scammer recently got a taste of their own medicine after a witty YouTuber with a hilarious sense of justice decided to turned things around during a livestream.
YouTuber Neld Harris has built a career on exposing online scammers and seems to get a little bit of joy out of it, understandably.
One video he uploaded to his YouTube channel in late November has gone viral with over 1 million views, and it's certainly a wild ride.
The video is over an hour long, so it's worth getting comfortable. Snippets of it have also been shared on Reddit and on the Be Amazed X page, a video of it has been upvoted more than 20,000 times.

The Reddit user 29PiecesOfSilver explained how the scammer believed they were speaking to an old frail grandma... but this didn't stop them from going on to attempt to steal her life savings of $348,816.47.
Harris’ YouTube page even explains how he is able to get the scammers under the impression they are dealing with a tech-illiterate old lady, rather than a computer savvy young man, thanks to the use of sophisticated technology.
“I make surrealist phone calls to scammers to bait them into ridiculous situations using voice mods, sound fx, fake banks, and fake gift card redeems,” he explained.

In this particular video, the scammer is regularly insulting what they suspect is an old lady and on top of being rude, they are acting pretty bizarre.
By the end of the video, Harris explains he knows the full identity of the scammer, what she looks like, where she went to university, as well as her full name.
Justice kicks in brilliantly here as the would-be thief begins with the crocodile tears, pleading with the YouTuber not to pass the information on to the authorities.
Social media users weren't falling for the fake tears though, and insisted it was important for scammers attempts at theft were exposed.

“Love this guy’s work. I hate that for every scammer he catches, there is one who gets away with something like this,” one user said.
“I love it when these guys take down these scammers from these scam call centres! I worked in a proper call centre as a customer service representative and I get irritated when I see these [people] scam poor people,” said another.
“She mad because she cannot get the money. I hate these fools so much. They need to get out in prison for years. She the devil."
“She was happy when she said "you're going to lose all your money" when she thought she was going to steal from an old lady. What a monster,” said another.

“You sir are being an actual hero. Don't ever feel bad. There are thousands of elderly having their lives ruined because of people like this who don't give a damn,” added another.
One less thief stealing from old people online seems like a big positive to me.
