A Taylor Swift fan was left fuming after an Airbnb host allegedly attempted to increase the cost of a stay after learning that her guests were going to see the pop star's concert.
While you might assume this is an example of extreme jealousy over getting to see Taylor Swift, TikTok user Ariel Stewart suggested another reason why the host increased prices.
Stewart’s clip of her conversation with the host has since been viewed more than 3 million times and many social media users have sided with Stewart.

The conversation took a turn after Stewart mentioned the 2024 concert and the host explained that she would be increasing the price to $1200 per night before then offering different locations for the TikToker. This came after the host had already accepted the original payment of $900 per night.
Everything appeared cordial for a time during the pair’s conversation before the pair began getting more frustrated and snappier with one another.
Stewart eventually declined the offer and the host put the issue of ‘incorrect pricing’ on to Airbnb, saying they did not allow her to change the price of bookings over such a long period.

The squabble continued and got more heated as Stewart said she would not be cancelling and was in contact with Airbnb support regarding what actions to take.
The host repeatedly called on Stewart to cancel herself to ensure she gets a full refund and for the host to avoid a penalty for themselves.
What started as a polite interaction quickly devolved into petty name calling with the host questioning whether she has a lot of friends.
While Stewart did face some criticism with some suggesting she was being ‘difficult’ most agreed she had been wronged.

“Airbnb host here; the app has so many ways to keep prices automated and adjusted. This is literally them having an oh s*** moment when you mentioned Taylor Swift,” one user commented.
“The host probably didn’t realize that Taylor Swift was in town and only saw dollar signs, not the consumer’s problem.” another wrote.
“They were mad they didn’t rack up the price for the event. You're not in the wrong.” added one supportive user.

“Hey love. Do not cancel. The host accepted. They are required to host you. Or Airbnb will fine them for the new location you need (Emergency booking),” one user advised.
