If you had a spare $925 dollars, what would you do with it?
I'm sure going holiday would be the top of many people's lists, but would buying an overpriced towel skirt be up there too?
If so, you'll be pleased to know Balenciaga has one.

The skirt is from look 30 of the fashion house's Spring 24 Collection, and is now ready to preorder on its website.
Labeled as being a unisex item, the skirt is 100 percent cotton and has two buttons on the waistline, as well an adjustable belt buckle on the inside.
The knee-length skirt also has the Balenciaga logo embroidered tone-on-tone at the front, apparently.

In light of it looking the same as a towel you could probably buy from Walmart and wrap around you waist yourself for hundreds of dollars less, people have taken to X to voice their thoughts.
Some have even questioned if it's a prank, but 1 April is still a while away yet, folks.
"Balenciaga is selling a towel wrapped around somebody’s waist as a skirt for $925," someone said.

"Please be f**king for real."
"These folks definitely have forgotten their brain," said someone else while referring to the fashion house's designers.
"Balenciaga’s $925 towel skirt… f**k fashion bruh," penned another followed by a string of laughing emojis.
Someone else fumed: "That's ridiculous! Who would pay that much for a towel skirt?"

"What kind of madness is this? At least I'm not their target market," laughed one person.
"Does anyone really buy these? like okay there‘s being rich and then there‘s just blindly buying sht [sic]," added another.
Elsewhere, someone went as far as saying that selling an item like that for so much money 'should be illegal'.

But this isn't the first time Balenciaga has sold what appears to be an everyday household items for huge amounts of money; last year it was selling a trash bag-looking handbag for an eye-watering $1,790.
The unique bags were thought up by creative director Demna Gvasalia who admitted that he loves a 'fashion scandal'.
"I couldn’t miss an opportunity to make the most expensive trash bag in the world, because who doesn’t love a fashion scandal?” he told The Independent at the time.
“The pouches - resembling plastic trash bags - are made out of calfskin leather, and are offered in black, blue, yellow and white colorways. Balenciaga’s logo is subtly printed on the front.”
People online who have been left befuddled about the towel skirt had a similar reaction to the bag.
I mean, I'd love to know how many of these things Balenciaga actually sells...
UNILAD has contacted Balenciaga for comment.
