Hawk Tuah girl reveals what boyfriend said to her after he lost money in her crypto crash

Haliey Welch has spoken out for the first time since her cryptocurrency scandal

Haliey Welch AKA 'Hawk Tuah girl' has opened up for the first time since her social media break, revealing what her boyfriend said to her after he lost a small fortune in her crypto cash.

Unless you were living under a rock last year, you'll known Haliey Welch went viral for the ‘hawk tuah’ and ‘spit on that thang’ video.

Yep, that one.

But in recent weeks, Welch has flown off the radar after becoming embroiled in a bit of a cryptocurrency scandal.

While the initial video made Welch viral and allowed her to quit her job and start up the podcast, Talk Tuah with Haliey Welch, she's not been heard of much since.

Towards the back end of 2024, the capitalisation on her success saw her branching out into crypto with the coin named '$HAWK token'.

It rocketed to a value of $490 million, but plummeted extremely quickly as CoinTelegraph reported it had flopped by more than 90 percent.

Effectively, those who had invested in the heavily promoted token collectively lost millions.

While Welch was not named as a defendant on subsequent lawsuits, she has received a lot of criticism online in recent weeks and months.

But the viral star is now back with Talk Tuah, as an episode with FaZe Clan’s founder Banks has been ‘leaked’ on Twitter.

In the podcast, Welch was asked about her boyfriend Kelby Blackwell, who is known by the nickname Pookie by many online.

"Pookie lost money too," Welch began.

"He said, 'How you going to take my money'? He still gives me s*** all the time, he says, 'I wish I had my $300 back.'"

Elsewhere in the podcast, Welch explained how the idea had been brought to her as a ‘long-term coin’ that would ‘change the way everybody thinks about crypto’.

She said: "And I feel really bad for all the people that got affected by it. And it just didn’t go the way I planned.”

Speaking further in the video, the social media star said the ‘biggest mistake’ was trusting the guy who was a ‘friend of a friend’ in taking on this crypto deal.

“I probably should have looked into him a little bit more,” she added.

Welch went on to state the guy - who was unnamed - was a ‘little bit weird’ on the day of the launch which made her ‘suspicious’.
