A woman went through one hell of an emotional rollercoaster after her boyfriend staged a prank where it looked like he was getting arrested before surprising her with a proposal.
There are so many ways for one person to let another know they love them and want to spend the rest of their lives together, but 'pretending to get arrested' is not one of the regular ways to say it.
However, that's what one guy did in a TikTok video which has gone viral and caused quite the reaction.

It was quite the experience for TikToker Shaquitta Nicole after she was spending time with friends when the event erupted into a commotion as her boyfriend Shane appeared to be getting arrested.
Someone pointed out that it looked like Shane was getting handcuffs put on him before pretty much everyone rushed over, some to try and figure out what was going on and others attempting to defuse the situation.
Shane asked Shaquitta to reach into his front pocket and get something before telling her he was 'sorry for f**king up your birthday' as she told him 'no you're not'.

One of the many people gathered round the fake arrest told Shane 'yes you are' sorry before he told his girlfriend: "But this will make it up to you."
He then got down on one knee, parted his arms to show he wasn't handcuffed after all and held up a ring, asking his girlfriend: "Will you marry me?"
Pretty much everyone in the area started screaming and Shaquitta just had to sit down for a while and process what had happened, though after a moment she was able to gather herself and say 'yes' to the proposal.
It's quite the dramatic way to pop the question and it's caused a bit of division over whether there was a better way to ask.

One person said they 'love it sooooo much omg' and another predicted the couple were in for 'the most exciting marriage' but others weren't quite so positive about the idea.
Someone else wondered 'why did he make her go thru all that' while another said 'this shouldn't feel wholesome but here we are'.
It turns out that this sort of thing has been done before, though not quite as successfully, as another commenter said they wished the same thing would happen to them but the man in their life 'really went to jail' instead of it being a prank.

It was definitely an unforgettable proposal, and at least she said yes, unlike a plethora of other dramatic attempts to pop the question where things didn't go quite as well as planned.
