A YouTuber who is attempting to spend one month in solitary confinement has sparked concern from viewers as he continues his livestream.
I'm all for a bit of peace and quiet every now and again, but it usually only takes a few hours before I'm ready to start annoying people with my presence once again.
Going way beyond that threshold, YouTuber Norme decided to set himself a challenge of spending one month in solitary confinement, with the hope of breaking a World Record in the process.

A quick search of Guinness World Records' website indicates there isn't currently a record for the longest time in solitary confinement - the first result that comes up is actually the longest time on death row.
At 45 years, Norme has a long way to go to match that time, but the fact this is the only comparable record tells you a lot about what he's going through in his dark room.
The YouTuber has been live-streaming his experience for all to see, and at the time of writing (November 7), the clock on his video has now amassed more than 547 hours - more than 22 days.

Norme can be seen pacing around the room and lying on a small, makeshift bed, though huge holes in the walls around him indicate he's had some tough moments too.
Viewers can opt to get more involved with the stream by sending money to the YouTuber, who is charging $5 for a handstand, $20 for a 'straightjacket for 15 mins', and $50 for 'mouth tape for one hour'.
A payment of $10 will give Norme the chance to get some food.

Though the YouTuber does sometimes leave the room for brief periods of time, presumably to use the bathroom or eat, viewers have started to express their concerns for his state of mind as the days on the stream mount up.
One person commented: "this is genuinely depressing," while another asked: "he has done this willingly[?]"
"They gotta go get this guy this is not normal," wrote a third.
Other viewers have claimed Norme could be doing 'permanent damage' to his brain, though some are rooting for the YouTuber to finish what he started.

"It’s been 23 days you got 7 days left you got this bro," one person wrote.
Norme has admitted during the challenge that he's come close to quitting, but for now he's sticking things out.
The intense stream comes just months after Norme attempted to break the world record for longest time without sleep. He managed to make it through 264 hours, but fell short of the official record of 453 hours.
