Some Beetlejuice fans might have a hard time believing why the dad from the original film may not have been in the new movie.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 classic and it follows the return of the iconic ghost, played by Michael Keaton.
Winona Ryder is back as the grown up version of Lydia Deetz, while Jenna Ortega takes on the role of her daughter.

While the 77-year-old hasn't spoke publicly about not being involved in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, it appears that his career trajectory changed after his arrest in 2002.
The following year, Jones plead no contest to charges of possession of child pornography.

At the time, he reportedly said: "This concludes a really painful chapter in my life. I am sorry that this incident was allowed to occur. Such an event has never happened before and it will never happen again."
However, in 2004 and then in 2010, he was arrested for failing to update his status as a sex offender.
The Ferris Bueller's Day Off star plead guilty and received a further 250 hours of community service and additional years of probation.
In Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the film starts with the Deetz family mourning the death Jones' character at a funeral.

A second added: "VERY RARE does a sequel to a classic come close to the original but here we are.
