Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have shared their views on the possibility of a Good Will Hunting sequel.
Written by Affleck and Damon, the 1997 drama centres on 20-year-old genius Will Hunting (played by Damon), who is working as a janitor at the prestigious MIT. Hunting meets Professor Gerald Lambeau (played by Stellan Skarsgard) after solving a particularly difficult maths problem written on a blackboard.
After getting caught up in a fight with a police officer, Will is arrested. However, the professor urges officials to show leniency on the condition he seeks treatment from therapist Sean Maguire (played by the late Robin Williams), who later helps him find direction in his life.

Alongside all of that, the flick catapulted Affleck and Damon to stardom - and the rest is history, as they say.
Fast-forward 25-years and Damon and Affleck were recently hit with the suggestion of a second Good Will Hunting movie, much to the amusement of the duo.
Speaking to Variety, a laughing Damon said: “Someone just tried to pitch Ben Good Will Hunting 2. I s**t you not - that happened. He told me today. He was like, ‘You’re not going to believe what I heard.’ This was a flat-out sequel. I don’t get it.”
Affleck added: “Matt is always telling stories that he should not be telling.”

But when pressed on the possibility of such a sequel, he was equally as unimpressed by the thought.
“It’s not a sequel we’re going to pursue,” he confirmed.
So that’s a solid, ‘no’, is it, guys?

Good Will Hunting star Minnie Driver, who played Skylar, has also rejected the idea of a second movie, insisting that the film is ‘perfect’ and that it ‘should be left alone’.
She told comicbook.com: "I think that movie needs to exist. I think I understand that it is so current to do that. I think some things should just remain beautiful and perfect in their existence.”
Adding: “But I think Good Will Hunting, I think that should be left alone."
